Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Programmer to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining CMM equipment to inspect precision components and ensure products meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Create, modify, and troubleshoot CMM programs using software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or MODUS.
- Perform dimensional inspections on complex mechanical components using CMM and other precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD models to create accurate inspection programs.
- Maintain inspection documentation, including setup sheets, reports, and data logs.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of the CMM equipment.
- Support first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections.
- Train quality team members on CMM operations as needed.
- Proven experience as a CMM Programmer or in a similar role in a manufacturing or quality environment.
- Proficiency in one or more CMM software platforms (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MODUS).
- Strong understanding of GD&T and mechanical inspection methods.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
- Experience with CNC machining or other quality-related tools (SPC, MSA).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other industry quality standards.
