What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan and direct all credit union activities in accordance with credit union policies, including the recommendation and implementation of programs and policies, direction of staff, operations planning and assistance to the Board of Directors in long-range planning and policy development, to ensure that credit union goals and objectives are being met.
- Plan, direct, compensate, motivate, and develop a competent, high performing staff to assure maximum efficiency in the daily credit union operations and effective member relations.
- Maintain responsibility for ensuring complete financial, statistical, and accounting records of the credit union.
- Prepare the credit union's annual plan and operating budget and present both for Board approval. Make periodic progress reports concerning plan and budget status.
- Ensure that all assets and employees of the credit union are properly insured and bonded and are responsible for implementing adequate security safeguards for the credit union.
- Periodically review all credit union policies and make recommendations for change to the Board of Directors as necessary.
- Define appropriate limitation of authority for loan departments’ staff and ensure strong understanding of credit loan policies and procedures.
- Submit to appropriate regulatory and government officials all information required by law or requested from the Board of Directors.
- Maintain responsibility for all activities related to the investment function, including the development of policies and procedures necessary to ensure that safety, liquidity, and yield are considered in all credit union investment decisions.
- Ensure that marketing efforts adequately communicate to members the value of credit union membership and services.
- Implement safeguards for funds, fixed assets, and valuables in custody; and maintain the fiscal solvency of the credit union.
- Participate in community and sponsor affairs to contribute to the overall image of the credit union and are responsible for promoting the credit union to the general public.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business Administration plus additional graduate level courses in finance, marketing, etc.) or equivalent.
- 10+ years of financial services experience, five of which should be in progressively responsible credit union management positions.
- Knowledge of credit union philosophy management techniques, general administration, accounting, financial and overall general operations.
- Ability to make decisions and to provide effective leadership.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be bondable.
Location
This is a full-time on-site position located at our headquarters in Oak Creek. Minimal (local) travel between branches/office locations required, as well as to Board, committee, and other external meetings and events.
