Position Overview

The Senior HR Generalist will manage the administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs while supporting key areas such as employee relations, training and development, compensation, organizational development, and recruitment. In this role, you’ll partner closely with leaders and employees to shape a positive employee experience and support our growing team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are under compliance.
  • Recruits, interviews and supports the selection of employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Trains HR Generalist and management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure timeliness, effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, retirement plan, vacation, leaves of absence and employee assistance.
  • Supports safety initiatives by following up on accidents and reports to Workers Compensation.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations, as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned by HR Manager and/or other leaders to support the organization

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field. HR certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of broad HR experience (generalist-level or higher). Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and proven success implementing HR functional best practices.
  • Experienced HRIS/HCM user systems with strong practices to utilize the systems to drive decision making and improve departmental effectiveness and efficiencies.  ADP preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with all levels of the organization as well as external vendor relationships to create solutions, communicate effectively and support successful change and project management.
