JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the Quality department and personnel management of the metrological lab. The Quality Manager will lead the organization in maintaining our ISO 9001 certification and ensuring ongoing compliance, as well as interface with all sister companies. RESPONSIBLITIES
- ISO 9001: Lead audits, maintain certification, and ensure systemic compliance across the organization. Ensure that the quality management system conforms to the requirements of ISO 9001.
- Lead and train the internal audit team to maintain compliance.
- Report on the performance of the quality management system and on opportunities for improvement to top management.
- Data and Compliance Management: Analyze quality data, maintain calibration and non-conformance programs, and drive root cause analysis. (e.g. COPQ reporting and corrective actions, defect reductions, customer delight tools).
- Lead and participate in cross-functional continuous improvement teams.
- Drive proactive resolution of manufacturing processes that affect product quality through collaborative and constructive interactions with operators and other departments
- Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervises the department’s staff to ensure quality specifications and standards are met or exceeded.
- Review all issues received from internal (MRR) and external customers (RMA) to determine root cause and recommend corrective action. Manage and maintain the company's Non-Conformance Report and Returned Material Authorization programs.
- Develop an inbound inspection process to support the business needs for international and domestic suppliers, including routed external processes (heat treat).
- Maintain and enforce quality procedures and specifications, testing procedures, and minimum weld qualification standards, in-process components, and finished products.
- Conduct research on product defects and recommend modifications in product or quality standards where warranted. Work with Design or Production Engineering to define and improve design and manufacturing processes.
- Assist in the management of the metallurgical lab, including equipment. Activities include heat treat verification, hardness testing, materials verification, and wear testing.
- Own the creation and implementation of an effective vendor quality auditing program. Includes vendor-supplied batch information, new vendor / first article inspections, mutual interest education, and periodic on-location inspections
- Manage the calibration program for all company measurement devices used in production part verification.
- Support the coordination with other sister factories to maintain a consistent standard amongst the groups.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Business, Statistics or another relevant field.
- A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in quality or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. Two years of leadership experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience developing and managing company quality systems.
- Extensive experience in project management and process control.
- Preferred experience working with Mechanical Engineers on documentation processes such as Standard Work, LEAN, KAIZEN or other continuous improvement activities.
- Exceptional analytical ability, decision making and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing methodology preferred. Experience in welding and heat treating is a plus.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Computer/Sedentary position.
- Intermittently will have to go onto the production floor resulting in exposure to loud noises, sparks, fumes, chemicals, and heavy equipment.
- Position will mainly be in a temperature control office space.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Based on system or project demands, the incumbent may periodically need to work outside of regular business hours.
