Member Service Representative

Rock Energy Cooperative is looking for a Member Service Representative to work in South Beloit, IL. The hours of operation are 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Pay range $20.00 - $25.00 per hour based on skills and experience. Essential Functions
  • Proficiently answer incoming calls, provide member support, and direct calls to other departments as needed
  • Assist with member billing needs including transfers of service and general account questions
  • Collaborate and clearly communicate with other departments
  • Provides a positive member experience with fair, friendly and courteous service
  • Apply payments accurately to accounts, have strong money handling skills and accurately balance drawers daily
  • Regular daily in-person attendance is required
  • Strong work ethic
  • Possess strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to sit, stand, push, pull, walk, stoop, bend, reach above the shoulders, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus
  • Able to drive to all REC office locations and within a 25-mile radius of the South Beloit location if needed

  • Have reliable transportation to and from work and other sites as referenced above.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Ability to quickly learn new software programs
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple software interfaces simultaneously
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge and ability to use office equipment
  • Ability to professionally communicate verbally, non-verbally and in writing

Experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in customer service
  • Experience using Microsoft Windows
  • 6 months’ experience working in an office environment preferred

Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Schedule
  • This is an in-person position
  • Monday – Friday – Excluding some holidays
  • 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
