Due to continued growth, we have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our team located at our Racine, WI manufacturing facility.  

The Quality Engineer is responsible for assessing, qualifying, and developing suppliers and manufacturing services providers.  Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position will monitor supplier performance, evaluate and audit suppliers’ systems, processes, standards, products, components, and applications against technical, quality and EHS requirements.  

Education and/or Experience:
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • 3+ Years’ experience working in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering and/or quality management roles in an ISO 9001 certified or similar quality system environment.
  • Experience with one or more of the following processes:  Machining, Casting, Forging, Heat Treat, and/or Gears.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers is preferred.
  • Experience auditing processes and/or quality systems is preferred.
Computer Skills:
  • Experience using ERP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Communication Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with external suppliers.
  • Able to hold suppliers accountable to meet Twin Disc quality requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate our standards to existing and potential suppliers. 
  • Ability to create reports and presentations for all levels of internal and external audiences.
Technical Requirements:
  • Ability to retrieve and analyze data, understand and interpret trends, develop and implement fact-based measures and controls.
  • Experience with gaging techniques (CMM, Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Depth Gages, Height Stands, etc.)
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
Specialized Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing processes, and quality auditing.
