Summary
As a Field Service Crane Technician, you will be a vital team member responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues in heavy equipment, specializing in crane operations. Your core diagnostic skills, electrical knowledge, and heavy equipment experience will be essential in maintaining, inspecting, and servicing cranes efficiently. This role offers a dynamic and challenging work environment where you can showcase your technical and mechanical expertise in crane maintenance, inspection, and repair.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect, repair (including emergency repairs), upgrade/modify, install, wire, start up, and commission overhead cranes (all manufacturers and types).
Work in extreme environmental conditions (heat and cold).
Perform work at heights up to 135 feet using AWP/manlifts.
Troubleshoot electrical systems (electrical background is a plus).
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Required Skills and Abilities
Ability to travel up to 75% as needed.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Working knowledge of general electrical concepts.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Fabrication and rigging experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as a productive team member.
Basic proficiency in mathematics, reading, and writing.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
Must not have a fear of heights.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Manual dexterity required for crane inspection and repair, including bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Excellent hand-eye coordination.
Must wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and fall protection.
