Responsibilities:

The Senior Human Resources Generalist will coordinate, perform and manage daily human resources activities for assigned division(s) in alignment with the company’s mission, values and objectives and in compliance with applicable employment laws. Perform recruitment and onboarding responsibilities across multiple locations for select production positions and act as a key resource for employees and leaders.
 
  • Provide human resources policy/practice guidance and interpretation on topics such as recruitment, benefits, compensation, employee relations, performance coaching and progressive disciplinary action.
  • Collaborate with leaders and employees to foster positive work relationships, build and maintain employee engagement, and increase productivity and retention. 
  • Perform full cycle recruitment activities to include sourcing candidates, screening applications, interviewing and coordinating pre-employment screening.  Select, monitor and evaluate temporary agency partners.
  • Develop and maintain a recruitment network and participate in outside recruitment events.
  • Perform benefit administration to include processing benefit changes, (i.e. enrollment, termination, dependent) and COBRA. Coordinate and process leave of absence paperwork and monitor/track leaves.
  • Manage performance review process, including maintaining accurate review cycles, review distribution, closing and filing reviews, etc.
  • Process employee action changes in the HRIS system such as pay and status changes and job transfers for assigned divisions. Generate reports as needed.
  • Proactively manage workers’ compensation claims. Follow-up on injuries with employees, supervisors, physicians and third-party agencies.  Coordinate return to work activities and participate in claim reviews.
  • Prepare and distribute first report of injuries, OSHA logs and all other required paperwork for workplace injuries. 
  • Conduct exit interviews and represent the Company on unemployment claims.
  • Lead and coordinate employee events, community giving initiatives and recognition programs.
  • Conduct new employee and benefits orientation as needed.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of human resources generalist experience.
  • Strong computer skill proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Experience with HRIS platforms. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to compose concise and clear correspondence, reports and manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions before groups of employees, community organizations and vendors.
  • Knowledge of human resource principles, best practices and employment law in order to make responsible, legal and compliant decisions.
  • Demonstrated sound problem solving, conflict management and decision-making with sensitive and confidential issues.
  • A high level of attention to detail, organization and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications Preferred:
  • Human Resources certification (i.e. SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP).
  • Human resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ADP.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
