Under the direction of the Chief Network Officer, this role will execute all HR functions of the organization, including compensation and benefits, performance management, recruitment and staffing, and staff training and development. The primary responsibility of this role is the updating, implementation, and enforcement of HR policies, programs, functions and activities that support the company’s business strategy, and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 
  • Executes all activities of the HR department.
  • Perform all payroll duties including but not limited to the processing of the bi-weekly payroll and reconciliation, coordinating 401k and payroll updates, and leading the 401k audit process.
  • Manages all activities related to the administration and maintenance of employee benefits programs as well as facilitates open enrollment benefit changes.
  • Conducts recruitment effort; writes and places job postings internally and externally; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; coordinates the onboarding process which includes conducting new-employee orientations, monitoring employee career paths and ensuring required training is complete. 
  • Assists with the enforcement of disciplinary action and terminations. Conducts exit interviews to collect feedback and discuss with leadership team. Performs unemployment administrative tasks as needed.
  • Develops and implements human resource policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook on policies and procedures. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to management and staff. Supports the resolution of employee concerns and ensures consistent application of handbook regulations. 
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations related to employment and ensures compliance with all applicable laws/regulations. Monitors compliance with multi-state employment and payroll laws.
  • Maintains employee personnel files and ensures compliance with records retention requirements.
  • Conducts and coordinates training for managers and other staff. 
  • All other duties that may be reasonably assigned, including special projects and cross-training in other departments.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Bachelor's degree in a HR or related field. 
  • 5+ Years of experience in Human Resources with benefit administration, employee relation, and payroll duties. 
  • Experience with Paylocity preferred. 
  • HCRI or SHRM HR Certification preferred. 
  • High level of organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated, dedicated, and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to read, write, type and speak English fluently is a requirement of this position.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The typical work environment is fast-paced and moderately quiet. Regular use of office equipment is expected, including computer, fax machines, and telephone. Employees may be required to lift on occasion up to 10 pounds. This position is required to sit at a workstation for up to 8 hours a day.
Travel of 10-15% required as needed to other Evans locations for hiring events or special projects.
