- Leverage their organizational skills and collaborative nature.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Take the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and growth, both for yourself and the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with revenue recognition responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and familiarity with accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and time-management skills.
- Self-motivated, takes initiative, and can effectively organize and prioritize tasks.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel skills required).
- SAP experience preferred.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assess contract documents to determine revenue recognition treatment in line with ASC 606 and company policies.
- Carry out month, quarter, and year-end close processes related to projects.
- Establish and manage new projects in SAP, including initial budgets and associated tasks.
- Work with Project Controls to keep forecasts accurate and make necessary updates.
- Provide data and analytics to Project Management and Divisional Management on a monthly or as-needed basis.
- Partner with Project Managers to evaluate project margins, opportunities, and risks.
- Maintain various schedules, including percentage of completion, backlogs, bookings, and billings.
- Process projects and orders in SAP for month-end tasks, including income statement and balance sheet account reconciliation.
- Complete journal entries in SAP as needed.
- Review and update final job status, ensuring proper treatment of non-incurred costs and accruals.
- Prepare regular financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor the financial health of projects and inform Project Managers when action is required.
- Support the processes of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Assist with requests from internal and external audits.
- Prepare regular warranty schedules and make necessary adjustments in SAP.
- Process billings according to contract terms and help with collection efforts.
- Maintain contract folders as per company requirements.
- Provide information for quarterly and year-end close processes.
- Handle special projects as assigned.
