Position Summary
This position will support and assist with the day-to-day administration of all HR activities and functions at all locations; however, primary focus will be on the New London, WI location.
General Responsibilities
Payroll:
- Track and input vacation hours for accruals negotiated outside of standards.
- Serve as back-up for supervisors and plant manager: Editing and approving Kronos hours and exceptions, and adjusting employee schedules as needed.
- Process temporary associate Kronos hours and send to agencies weekly.
- Enter new hire information into JD Edwards.
- Reconcile staffing agency invoices and forward to A/P for payment weekly.
- Process payroll changes in JD Edwards daily.
- Process all termination paperwork in JD Edwards and the company benefit platform timely.
Recruiting/New Hire Orientation:
- Assist plant managment with the recruitment of shop employees at the New London, WI location.
- Acts as the liason between Staffing Agencies and Steel King locations.
- The local HR Generalist will assist the Recruiter to post job openings on recruiting websites/employee breakrooms. o Escallation: 1st Local HR Generalist/Sr. HR Generalist, 2nd Corporate Sr. HR Generalist, 3rd HR Director.
- Serves as a back-up to conduct new employee orientations for shop and all office employees to cover company policies, benefits and other employment related compliance items.
- Train new employees on benefit enrollment, pay stub look up, and retirement savings account set-up.
- Complete new hire reporting paperwork.
Benefits:
- Conduct New Hire benefit orientation each month for newly eligible employees on all shifts.
- Annually assist with benefit enrollment process including input into JDE and employee meetings.
- Annually assist with the scheduling of health screening assessments.
- Enter new hire information, on-line benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in the company
- benefit platform.
- Process new hire benefit enrollments and any benefits changes in JDE.
- Manage disability claims for shop and all office employees. Serve as back-up to other location (Rome, GA & Stevens Point, WI) HR Representatives in their absence.
- Assist employees in applying for FMLA leave requests through our Absence Management vendor and track employee leaves in the time management system for office and shop employees located in New London, WI.
- In coordination with the Corporate Sr. HR Generalist, file and manage Workers Compensation claims for New London, WI shop and all office employees. Serve as back-up to local HR Generalists in their absence.
- Maintain New London’s OSHA 300 Log and 300A postings in the facility.
- Maintain Safety training records and OSHA-required training records.
- Maintain Safety & OSHA-required Safety presentation materials.
- Responsible for ensuring the OSHA 300 Log for the New London, WI facility is completed annually, accurately, and updated timely.
- Ensure 300A is completed, signed and posted per OSHA guidelines.
- Update and maintain the annual Safety Schedule Planner.
- Schedule First Aid/CPR/AED and any other outside training sessions as needed.
- Attend monthly Safety Committee meetings. Maintain minutes, and track related incentives when EHS Manager is absent.
General:
- Assist with the day-to-day HR activities and function.
- Assists with the maintenance of accurate and complete personnel records, ensuring that rules concerning confidentiality are followed.
- Complete employment verifications.
- Complete paperwork at termination, including unemployment insurance claims and report to supervisors any disputed claims.
- Maintain MVR release forms on all employees that drive on company business, ensure that MVRS are run and meet company guidelines or take necessary steps for corrective measures.
- Maintain company drivers list on Sharepoint and HR file.
- Maintain records for length of service awards for all employees and order gifts when milestones have been met.
- As directed by Corporate, coordinate annual wellness health incentive report card events and activities.
- Maintain wellness boards.
- Maintain employee personnel files.
- Coordinate quarterly 401k on-site visits for all locations.
- Coordinate employee lunches, picnics, and other employee relations events.
- In coordination with the HR Director, maintain HR Department Standard Work Procedures.
- Assume other special activities as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
- All other duties as assigned by the HR Director and or Executive Committee.
Education/Experience Required
- BS/BA from accredited university in HR Preferred.
- 2-4 years related experience.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- SHRM-PHR a plus.
- Any combination of education and experience will be considered.
