Job Description
This role reports to the Production Control & Inventory Manager and plays a critical role in materials with purchasing, freight, and subcontracting. Responsibilities include verifying material availability for production and customer delivery schedules, ensuring timely receipt and distribution of inventory, and checking stock levels to for raw material replacement. The coordinator will manage supplier communication, track material movements within the ERP system, and ensure smooth logistical operations for raw materials, components, and outside-processed parts. Additionally, this role will support process improvements related to purchasing and supply chain efficiency.

Job requirements:
  • Coordinate procurement activities, including requesting supplier quotes, negotiating pricing and delivery terms, and purchasing raw materials.
  • Monitor stock levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Use customer releases and scheduling reports to plan production jobs for stock parts.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, including subcontracting operations and outside processing vendors.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding purchase orders, delivery schedules, and shipment issues.
  • Arrange and track freight for raw materials, subcontracting, and customer deliveries.
  • Monitor subcontract receiving history to ensure availability of raw materials or components and customer lead times.
  • Address supplier-related discrepancies regarding quantities, quality, or late shipments.
  • Ensure proper entry and communication of all material releases in the ERP system.
  • Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production requirements.
  • Verify and document material certifications, including scanning and filing them into correct jobs.
  • Confirm received materials match packing list and material certifications in purchase orders before finalizing receipts in ERP system.
  • Investigate and resolve receiving issues or subcontract shipping discrepancies.
  • Review and approve invoices for materials, freight, and shipping expenses.
  • Participate in new part meetings and enter new part setup in the ERP system.
  • Assist customer service as needed, ensuring seamless communication between supply chain and customer operations. Provide backup support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on with a focus on purchasing, materials, and freight coordination.
  • Advanced skills in administrative, ERP document management and data entry tasks. Strong computer skills required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive in analyzing and solving problems while complying with company procedures.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn new techniques and be cross trained in other roles.
