About the Position
The Process Engineer performs duties to establish and maintain manufacturing methods, equipment, standards and systems to increase manufacturing productivity and efficiency under the supervision the Environmental & Engineering Manager.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of environmental, safety, and quality policies and systems.
- Develop and execute preventive and corrective action plans, utilizing problem-solving methods.
- Design, specify, and manage manufacturing equipment and system installations.
- Collaborate with departments to improve processes and resolve issues using root cause analysis.
- Act as project lead for capital improvements and safety/environmental projects.
- Maintain and update manufacturing systems, processes, and documentation.
- Support production operations and assist with machine breakdowns as needed.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including training and audits.
- Stay updated on technological developments to enhance safety, efficiency, and quality.
- Program and troubleshoot plant-wide control systems (PLC and SCADA experience preferred).
- Obtain and maintain certifications in EPA Haz Waste Disposal and DOT Hazmat.
- Flexibility to work outside core hours and travel as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in the automotive, industrial chemicals, and/or adhesives industries, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; experience with integrated business software, Core Tools, and APQP process/documentation is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for the majority of an eight-hour day.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with heat, dust, and dirt.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Some travel required.
