The expected rate for this position is $18/hr - $20/hr, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees which include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability Insurance. PTO (paid time off) and PLA (paid leave for all workers). Nine paid holidays per year, 401k with company match.

Job Summary
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment within our facility. This role reports to the Manufacturing Services Supervisor and involves routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to support the overall operations of our organization. The Custodian will adhere to all company policies and work rules while ensuring that work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Follow all work rules, safety guidelines, and procedures.
- Clean and maintain assigned areas, including tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, cleaning windows and removing trash. (Refer to cleaning schedule for additional information.)
- Clean and stock washrooms by replacing paper products and replenishing supplies.
- Clean company vehicles as assigned.
- Remove cardboard and debris, ensuring the facility is orderly.
- Maintain outdoor areas by shoveling, salting entrances, and picking up litter.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Manufacturing Services Supervisor.
- Other related duties as assigned to support the maintenance of the facility.
- Dismantle wire spools for efficient disposal.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as directed by leadership to meet operational needs, including but not limited to working in shipping/receiving or in production.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Perform physical activities including standing, bending, squatting, walking up and down stairs, climbing and working from step ladder, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Work in varying environmental conditions typical of a manufacturing facility, indoor and out.
- Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping roles is preferred.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition and subtraction).
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capability to work efficiently under occasional time constraints.
- Must demonstrate reliability and a commitment to quality work.
- Work is typically performed in a well-lit, climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
- Some work outside in varied weather conditions is required. (i.e. heat, cold, wind, rain, & snow)
- Noise levels are typically low to moderate.
- The role may involve work near wires, cables, and compressed air tools.
- Work areas will be mainly mobile (on concrete floors) but may include stationery (at a workbench).
