Accountant
Confidential Accountant Opportunity
Location: Milwaukee

Position Overview:
In this key role, the Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of accounting and budgeting functions, including financial reporting, audit preparation, and maintaining day-to-day fiscal operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a high level of integrity, and a commitment to excellence in financial stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and general ledger journal entries
- Maintain detailed records of assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses
- Reconcile accounts and bank statements; ensure financial data integrity
- Prepare and review internal and external billings and payment processing
- Support budgeting activities and the preparation of financial reports
- Assist with annual audits and related financial documentation
- Maintain vendor relationships and oversee accounts payable/receivable
- Prepare required tax documents, including 1099s and other filings
- Track investment activity and update corresponding Excel reports
- Support special events with business office activities and reconciliations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; nonprofit or religious organization background a plus
- Solid understanding of tax reporting and financial regulations
- High attention to detail with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Financial Edge or Raiser’s Edge is a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Additional Information:
- This position requires occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) and regular computer-based work
- Must be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a collaborative office environment
