About the Position
The Production Control Specialist provides manufacturing support with material flow, operational planning/execution and coordinates production processes for multiple facilities. Using an MRP/ERP system, the Specialist will ensure inventory alignment and production capability. The Specialist will ensure on time pick-up and delivery of orders shipped out to customers.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage batch card generation and data entry in Syspro to support production processes.
- Maintain updated production schedules and inventory reports through coordination with the Production Supervisor.
- Monitor inventory levels against production schedules and alert the Production Control Manager of potential shortages.
- Prepare and release sales orders, including creating shipping documentation (bills of material, packing slips, customs invoices, hazardous goods manifests).
- Ensure compliance with Federal, DOT, FAA certifications required for shipping hazardous goods via various freight methods.
- Coordinate with Purchasing/Logistics on special shipments (expedited, trial runs) and schedule transportation for all outgoing shipments.
- Compile and transfer shipping and sales order documentation to accounting post-shipment.
- Act as the main point of contact for drivers, ensuring accurate documentation for all shipments.
- Address customer inquiries regarding shipments, delivery schedules, quotes, or billing, and provide necessary shipping documents.
- Collaborate with QC and Operations teams to address daily shipping needs and ensure proper testing of shipped materials.
Requirements
- High school diploma with at least 3 year of experience in customer service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with computer systems is essential.
- Minimal physical lifting required.
- Certification in Hazmat shipping is preferred but not mandatory.
