The Senior Accountant is responsible for financial reporting, compliance, and process improvements to support the company’s financial health. This role involves preparing and analyzing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting key business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and a desire to grow within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and proper classification of transactions.
- Assist in financial audits by providing documentation and explanations to auditors.
- Prepare and file tax reports, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by analyzing financial trends.
- Monitor and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
- Assist in special projects such as system implementations and financial analysis initiatives.
- Mentor and provide guidance to AP and AR.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or working toward CPA certification preferred.
- 4-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate or public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
