The Outside Sales Manager generates annual increases in sales revenue and profit margins with existing and new OEM customers in assigned industries/accounts by developing and expanding existing customer accounts and orchestrates development of long lasting and meaningful relationships with customers that will achieve company goals for revenue growth and profit. Coordinates resources to effectively support existing customer’s products, ensure positive customer experiences. In summary, develop, implement, and coordinate activities concerning the technical sales and application of product to meet company objectives.

What you will be responsible for...

  • Increase revenue and profit margins for assigned accounts by ensuring excellent service and quality by selling value, the company’s portfolio of products and services, quality, integrity and creating remarkable customer experiences.
  • Conduct regular sales appointments to existing and prospective customers to promote the Company’s solutions. Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education on new programs.
  • Generate and present to customers, timely written quotations for products and services following current sales policies.
  • Develop and maintain a sales plan for assigned accounts that meets or exceeds his/her orders and revenue budget to grow market share for the company. NEW business development of target accounts is a key activity.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively prospect new opportunities from both new and existing accounts by following the company’s prospecting training and process.
  • Keep current on all Company products from a technical, application, pricing, and selling benefits standpoint.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and adeptness at analyzing facts, problem solving, decision-making and communication skills.
  • Prepare monthly sales forecast and target account pipeline updates in CRM for assigned accounts directly served by this position. Prepare a revenue plan by account annually to achieve expected revenue growth.
  • Be able to present the Company’s capabilities in terms of application solutions including the differentiated value selling points compared to market competitors.
  • Follow up on all leads and enter the results in the company’s CRM system.
  • Communicate the end use of the product to employee owners to add meaning to their efforts.
  • Become proficient with Windings’ CRM Software. Ensure that all contacts and relevant communications are captured and updated quickly and accurately into Windings’ CRM System.
  • Assist with sponsored trade shows as requested.
  • Document all customer appointments in the Company’s CRM system.
  • Learn and follow current Company Sales processes including sales policies.
  • Join and remain in good standing as a member of any professional organization that represents a significant industry the Company serves.

Requirements

What you need...

Education:

  • A 4-year technical degree is preferred, a 4-year business degree is required if a 4-year technical degree is not completed.

Experience:

  • 5 years of practical experience selling custom solutions in the electric motors/motor controls markets is required OR a 4-year business degree and at least 5 years of selling technical solutions. Experience selling custom solutions in the electric motors/motor control markets to industrial customers is highly preferred.
  • Experience selling into the Aerospace and Defense Industry is highly preferred.

Knowledge/ Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required for this position, including the ability to positively engage potential customers at any level in their organization in conversation in person and via phone and/or computer.
  • Superior listening skills are necessary.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to be self-motivated and self-directed are needed.
  • This position requires communication skills, selling skills, analytical skills, and computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Windings’ CRM System.
  • Business writing skills, organizational skills, and presentation skills are also required.
