Manufacturing Engineer
Waukesha, WI | Full-Time | Onsite

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing manufacturing team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys designing fixtures and tooling, improving production processes, and working closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality to drive continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on engineering position in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment, where you will have the opportunity to directly influence how products are built. As the company continues to invest in facility improvements, new layouts, and manufacturing technology, this role will play a key part in shaping efficient, scalable production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, model, and develop production fixtures, jigs, and tooling using SolidWorks
  • Develop and maintain standardized assembly methods, work instructions, and process documentation
  • Partner with Product Engineering and Quality to improve manufacturability and support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Evaluate and improve existing tooling and fixtures to reduce setup time and improve repeatability
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles, time studies, and data-driven analysis to improve production flow and reduce waste
  • Support new product introductions and ensure smooth transition from engineering to production
  • Track production performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance activities, support equipment installation, and uptime improvements
  • Lead or support root cause investigations related to production downtime and implement corrective actions
  • Identify and support opportunities for future automation and manufacturing improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support production goals and operational efficiency

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in; Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD
  • Experience designing fixtures, tooling, or manufacturing equipment
  • Experience with sheet metal, tubing, welding, mechanical assemblies, or similar fabrication processes
  • Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to time studies, standard work, and process improvement methods
  • Experience working in small to mid-sized manufacturing organizations
  • Additional experience with manufacturing process optimization or layout improvement
