Your Role in Our Success

As our Quality Engineer II you will be a resource and interface across all areas of the organization. In this role, you will be using quality tools and lean fundamentals to help Pferd achieve higher levels of product and process quality through new products, manufacturing, and distribution.

What you will do

  • Ensure quality systems are in accordance with the company's ISO 9001 quality program through internal audits.
  • Lead the day-to-day site quality engineering activities including material disposition, internal/external concern management, and metrology management, etc.
  • Maintain and report product conformance to engineering and customer specifications through inspection of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods inventories.
  • Guide team members in quality data trending and analysis; evaluate and present report of analysis.
  • Review production processes for conformance to quality standards.
  • Report and track any significant deviations from quality standards and recommends corrective action to appropriate management.
  • Provide leadership and tools for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the growth of team members by selecting, organizing, and developing training opportunities.
  • Mentor new team members.
  • Visit suppliers to review quality concerns and issues to minimize inspection requirements.
  • Determine validity of customer complaints via customer contact, blueprint interpretation and/or inspection of returned goods.
  • Manage quality issues as they relate to receiving inspection, production process control and final product quality audits.
  • Facilitate the resolution of manufacturing and process-related quality issues, including problem­ solving, corrective actions, and design improvements.
  • Lead or participate in material review board activities.

What you will need

  • Bachelor's Degree; minimum of 3 to 5 years in a manufacturing environment, with 2-3 years of quality control experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Experience in ISO-certified manufacturing preferred
  • Experience as an ISO-certified Internal Auditor
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Windows, Excel, and Minitab
  • Must be able to effectively train others in quality methods and tools.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer a plus
  • SAP experience with emphasis on the QM preferred
  • Knowledge of problem-solving tools and lean tools
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze data and exercise judgment to ensure accuracy
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a team contributor
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
