Position Summary
The Project Accountant supports the financial and administrative operations of commercial construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, field teams, vendors, and the accounting department to ensure accurate job costing, billing, documentation, and project coordination.

This position plays an important role in keeping projects organized, financially accurate, and running smoothly in a fast-paced construction environment.

What we are looking or in experience?
Qualifications
  • 3–4 years of accounting, finance, or project accounting experience
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, or trades preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with construction software such as Procore, GCPay, or ComputerEase is a plus
Education
  • High school diploma required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred

What are the Key Responsibilities for this position?
Project & Financial Support
  • Track job costs, project budgets, and financial performance
  • Assist with project billing, invoices, and collections follow-up
  • Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate job costing
  • Maintain organized project financial records
Project Coordination
  • Support Project Managers with documentation, reports, and schedules
  • Track and maintain contracts, change orders, and project documentation
  • Coordinate communication between office staff, field teams, vendors, and contractors
Materials & Operations
  • Assist with material ordering and delivery coordination
  • Track project materials and support inventory management
  • Prepare job startup and close-out documentation
Administrative Support
  • Maintain project files, permits, and compliance documentation
  • Assist with expense reports and credit card reconciliation
  • Provide general administrative support to the operations team

Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based in Milwaukee, with occasional visits to commercial job sites. Site visits require adherence to company safety policies and appropriate PPE.
